Can’t praise them highly enough. They were the ONLY vet we approached who were willing to actively help us treat a stray cat that we’d been looking after, who had extensive medical needs. They were compassionate, moved schedules to accommodate him and his surgery, and minimised his distress. Sadly, our own vet placed obstacles in our way and made no effort to help us; only Drake Vets stepped up.

Sadly our 19 year old cat Mollie had been unwell for sometime and was certainly off her food and exercise. She spent most of the day lying down and sleeping. Apart from arthritis it seems she had a tumour in her digestive tract. Rather than see her suffer we were advised to have her put to sleep. It was a very sad and trying time for all the family, Mollie was one of us. However, the staff were very understanding and caring. They arranged for her cremation, sent us a lovely commiseration card and even sorted out the insurance claim. Couldn’t ask for a better service during this sad time.

These guys are SUPER-professional and care deeply about the animals they deal with. My overly-reactive dog can’t cope with other dogs in close proximity – the situation of getting him into the consulting rooms if other dogs are in the waiting area is always managed perfectly with NO fuss and total understanding.I had an appointment yesterday and the vet in question (Emma) spent time discussing my dog’s medication and how he was doing generally. This morning, I had a question regarding that appointment and received a phone call from Emma to chat further and clarify things.For repeat meds, making appointments etc. the staff are always incredibly helpful – honestly, I can’t fault this practice.

We have used Drake Vets (and as it was Town farm vets) for many years. Our dear dog was registered with Drakes and thankfully he was very healthy most of the time. However recently our poor elderly dog, Tigger had a seizure, diagnosed as a brain tumour. The vets and nurses who dealt with Tigger were first class. Also the receptionists who had to put up with my floods of tears over the phone were very professional. We took Tigger to Drakes for his final journey and we were able to be with him when he had to go. Particular thanks to Chris.

Had to have our dog put down a few months ago. Obviously very sad experience but the vets were professional and compassionate. They came out for a home visit within an hour of phoning, procedure was totally painless, doggo was licking butter and getting cuddles by us until the end.

I previously positively reviewed Drake Vets not long after adopting my dog and felt it was worth updating. I’ve been a customer of this practice for nearly two years now and couldn’t imagine using another practice. Every single staff member we’ve interacted with has been incredibly friendly, and skilled at their job.We initially chose Drake Vets as we heard they were Sighthound savvy which is important due to their physiological differences compared to other dogs. Not only do the vets clearly understand the unique needs of the breed group, but they have been incredibly understanding of my dogs reactivity towards other dogs, and have always managed to accommodate us and other owners without any unnecessary stress.Hopefully we will continue to use the practice for many years to come! It’s worth noting that their prices are more than fair, and they have always been happy to help us find ways to save money when possible, or file insurance claims to Pet Plan on our behalf.

I rang up, registered my cat, was given an appointment on the same day, and have received medication. All of this within 3 hours, if that doesn’t impress you then you can not be impressed by anything.Friendly knowledgable staff collected my pet from the car, treated him and returned him to the car, so you are perfectly safe visiting this practice. You then pay by phone, so easy! Thank you!

I cannot fault the lovely lady who looked at Hettys leg. The trip to the vet itself was eventful as I mistakenly entered an an incorrect postcode and ended up 6 miles from the vet and 30 years in the past, asking some yokels the way to Tesco. They looked aghast at me and had a twenty minute totally incomprehensible conversation with each other before giving me the 20 minutes incomprehensible directions, I nodded politely and drove off wondering if the aging passenger would actually make it home.

Staff are always very friendly and kind towards both me and my dog. Prices as expected. Only complaint is that medication is kept only in their yelverton branch so you have to make a second trip to collect prescriptions rather than doing it all in one trip.
